Labor Day Weekend Service Advisory
CityBus will not operate on Monday, September 1st for the Labor Day holiday. All offices will be closed. Campus Loops (including NightRider, Gold Loop, Tower Acres, and Black Loop) will not operate from 6PM Friday, August 29 through Monday, September 1st. All services will resume on Tuesday, September 2.

Buses to Serve Benjamin Crossing
CityBus is extending a bus line to the Benjamin Crossing neighborhood beginning Monday, August 25th.
Route 6B S. 18th St. will serve the neighborhood located on Concord Rd. south of Co. Rd. 350 S. on each trip. (See route and schedule information.)
The 6B route, which was extended to Co. Rd. 350 S. and Wal-Mart in January, also serves S. 18th St., Beck Lane, Teal Rd., and downtown Lafayette.
Riders can make connections to most other CityBus routes downtown.

CityBus detours downtown transfer location
CityBus buses are meeting for transfers along the west side of Third St. between Ferry and Cincinnati streets due to construction near Riehle Plaza. CityBus will continue to operate its customer service office inside Riehle Plaza while buses park a block to the northeast.

Contractors are digging an underground sewer tunnel to protect the Wabash River from sewage overflow. CityBus regrets any inconvenience.

Lafayette City Council Unanimous on Trolley

The Lafayette City Council passed the resolution to extend the excess levy that funds the trolley and other transit projects with a unanimous vote at its August 4th meeting. After receiving comments from citizens in a public hearing and at two city council meetings, all members who voted were in favor. See more in the Journal and Courier.

CityBus celebrates 100 days of safe driving
Riehle Plaza design, downtown development topics of meetings
CityBus officials are considering ways to improve the downtown transfer center at Riehle Plaza and to make plans for transit-oriented development in downtown areas near the plaza. Consultants from Glatting Jackson Kercher Anglin, an architectural firm that specializes in transit center design, will be on site this week. The public is invited to take part in a design charrette on Wednesday, August 6, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Attendees may stop in to participate any time during the charrette, which will be held at CityBus’s offices at 1250 Canal Rd., Lafayette. The consultants will present their findings at a meeting on Thursday, August 7, at 5 p.m. in the board room at CityBus.
